Corona Pandemics: The Finance Minister Declares 1.70 Crore relief fund

The union Finance Minister Smt. Niramla Sitharaman declares Rs 1.70 Lakh Crore relief package under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana for the poor to help them fight the battle against Covid -19 pandemic

Below the Highlights of “Battle Plan” for COVID-19  :

• Government will provide insurance benefits to Health worker fighting for COVID-19 insurance of Rs. 50Lakh of each health worker under Insurance Scheme.
• Government announces to provide ration to 80 crore poor ration card holder will get 5 kg wheat or rice and one kg of preferred pulses for free every month for the next three months
• 20 crore women Jan Dhan account holders to get Rs 500 per month for next three months and Daily wage rural workers under MNREGA will get benefit of  Rs 202 a day from Rs 182 which helps 13.62 crore families
• under existing PM Kisan Yojana the farmers will get to paid Rs. 2000 in first week of April further  An ex-gratia of Rs 1,000 provided to poor senior citizen, poor widows and poor disabled
• The order has been given by Central Government to State Governments to use Building and Construction Workers Welfare Fund to provide relief to Construction Workers
• Under the Ujjawala scheme 8 crore BPL families will get free cylinders for three months.

 1. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package

     Insurance scheme for health workers fighting COVID-19

•  In special insurance scheme  Safai karamcharis, ward-boys, nurses, ASHA workers,   paramedics, technicians, doctors and specialists and other health workers would be covered.
•  under the scheme Health professional, who treating Covid-19 patients, meet with some accident, then they also get compensation with an amount of Rs 50 lakh.
• All government health centers, wellness centers and hospitals includes state as well as Centre would be get compensation under this scheme

2. PM Garib Kalyan Ann  Yojana

 Under this scheme Government of India would not allow anybody, especially BPL families, to suffer for food so for the next three months. Approximately 80 crore individuals would get free of cost. Pulses.1Kg per family.  

3. Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana

Under PM KISAN Yojana it would cover 8.7 crores farmer the first installment of Rs 2,000 due in 2020-21 will be paid in April 2020 itself under the PM KISAN Yojana.

4. Under PMJDY Scheme women having jan Dhan account-holders would be given payment of Rs.500 per month for next three months.and also they get benefits of Gas cylinders for next three months: Further .daily wage worker who have fear of losing employment would also get compensation Government proposes to pay 24% of their monthly wages into provident fund account for next three months..

5.  Government provides proper Support to senior citizens (above 60 years), widows and Divyang to get over  difficulties in COVID-19: they will get an ex-gratia of Rs.1000 for next three months.

6.  MNREGA (Mhatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act)

 MNREGA wages has been increased by Rs 202 with effect from 1 April, 2020. will provide an additional Rs 2,000 benefit annually to a worker.

 7. Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Fund:

Under this fund state government will give directions to utilize this fund to provide beneficiary support to these worker to prevent them against economic crises. There are around Approximately  3.5 Crore registered workers in the Fund.
