1) Society under society registration act: Minimum of 7 members required to form a society under the society registration Act 1860 of various states. Different states have their own rules and regulations for forming a society.

Society is established for the purpose of charity, promotion of literature, social, as well as fine arts, the transmission of useful knowledge, dissemination of political education, the foundation or maintenance of libraries, reading rooms for members of any organization as well as it is open to the general public.

No stamp paper is required for memorandum of association and rules and regulations. The following documents are required to be submitted in the office of the registrar for the registration of the society.

1) Memorandum of association and rules and regulations of society

2) Consent letter of all the members of society

3) Authority letter is to be signed by all the members who are applying for registration of the society

4) An affidavit is to submit by the president or secretary of society on as stamp paper   together with the court fee

5) A declaration by members of the society that funds of the society will be used for the purpose of forming the aims and objectives of the society.

All the documents mentioned above are to be submitted together with the number of required registration fees.  

2) Trust under the Indian trust act:  Minimum of 2 members is required for registration of trust under the Indian Trust Act and there is no upper limit on the members to form the trust. The Trust deed is to be executed on the stamp paper and the value of stamp duty varies from state to state. The following documents are required for the trust registration:

1) A complete draft of a trust deed

2) Proof of registered office of trust (rental agreement or ownership document)

3) Id proofs of the members of the trust

4) Two witnesses are also required to execute the trust deed

3) Section 8 company formed under companies Act, 2013: Minimum of at least two members are commonly required to incorporate a section 8 company whose main objective is to promote arts, culture, science, religion, charity, or any such useful object which is used for supporting the matters of section 8 company. An applicant has to make an application to the registrar of companies for availability of name.

Once the name is confirmed an application has to be made for the incorporation of section 8 company. Documents required for section 8 company are as follows:

1) Identity proofs of all directors

2) Address proof of all directors

3) Passport size photograph of all directors

4) Rent agreement, if the property is on rent

5) Utility bill of the registered office of the company
